Le Petite Champlain is the quaintest part of Lower Town. These very european buildings surround you as you make your way down the steep steps to join the hoards of tourists gathering outside numerous souvenir stores. It is very touristy here but its a beautiful place to take a stroll, shop a little, eat a little. Of all the four days I was in Quebec City, I visited visited le petite champlain on all of the days!
I shall let the pictures do the talking :)
Me and Georgina were wandering around Lower Town when we heard a pianist in the distance, playing familiar tunes with great fluidity. Following the music, we arrived at a crazy huge mural, the height of a building. It was crazy to look at! The artist also tried giving it a perspective that leads us to think that the road on the mural continues on from the road we were standing on.
WAY COOL!
Anyway, if you'd like to know where this building is, its located very near Place Royal, where Samuel de Champlain once lived.
I was walking along Le Petite Champlain when I saw something shimmering on the ground.
"Hey! Its a coin!" I said to Georgina. We crouched down to pick it up only to realise it won't budge. Then it dawned upon us that someone glued the coin to the ground to get our attention to the poster on the ground! How innovative!!
So Romantic <3 |
Le petite champlain is a pretty place especially in the evening when the sun is setting. It feels like Christmas all year round here. Get some souvenirs, get some jam, get some fresh maple candy, get some chocolate, oh yes! There's beavertails here as well! :)
