Washington DC Landmarks

I was looking through some material online and realised you can order a free official tourist guide. You can find it here.

A photo before I start the day

It was a lovely day out and the people picnicking on the green makes this a pretty photo.

The Washington Monument and some Christmas Lights

This the view in front of the White House.

The White House from a distance

This is as close to the white house one can get. It was a terrible experience trying to get a photo here because it’s a regular pavement and everyone’s trying to get their photo taken with this monument behind, also there are people who just want to push through the crowd. Not a good experience. But yea. Hi President.

Walking to the Lincoln Memorial at Sundown

While taking a short 15 minute walk to the Lincoln Memorial from the White House, the sun set suddenly and walking into a dark park, the Lincoln Monument appears atop a large flight of stairs. It was daunting to walk in the dark to the Lincoln Memorial but I was relieved to see many people there too. It says on the web that there are park rangers there but I didn't see any. I guess, just don't walk in the park on your own.

This monument is actually very pretty at night.

I think if we had gone in the daylight, we'd have missed out. Its actually a good idea to go at night! just don't go alone. Its quite quiet at the other end of the park.

The Washington Monument in the distance, reflected by the water leading to Lincoln Memorial.
There's a nice silence here but it also started to get cold really quickly.
