Five Guys

I seldom ate out during my exchange. I only started eating out towards the end of my exchange when I realised I had quite alot of savings left.

So, many people have been to five guys and were all raving about it. I heard five guys is fast food, but their prices are much higher than Macs. I never believed in spending too much on fast food, hence it wasn't something that was necessary for me to try. But one day, some friends proposed eating five guys and I thought "yeah why not?". When you're with company, it makes spending money seem more worthwhile. :)

How a typical Five Guys store looks like.

The guy looks way too happy on a cold winter day.

Free Flow of Peanuts
Free flow of peanuts!! Five Guys cook their fries with peanut oil, perhaps that's why its so tasty! Do you know peanut oil contains no cholesterol? This is somewhat guilt-free fries :) Also, If you dine in, you are entitled free flow of peanuts! No fast food joint would dare to do this in Singapore, for all the thrifty people would simply sit in the restaurant and not move. Some may even bring their books here to study. Haha. Very generous of them :)

Bacon Cheeseburger

Love the burger! There's the Little Bacon Cheeseburger and the Bacon Cheeseburger. The word 'little' may mislead you into thinking the burger would be a kid's size burger but no. The burgers are the same size and the difference between the little burger and the normal burger is a patty :) Clearly, I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger, check out that thick patty!

When you eat five guys, be prepared to get messy. The soft bun soaks up most of the juice that oozes out of the patty but much still drips out of the aluminium foil when the bun gets saturated. It was impossible for me to keep my hands clean, especially because they were so generous with the toppings that they kept falling out as well. Love the drippy burger all in all!

My only gripe is, there is no wifi :( I don't have a data plan so having wifi is important to me. Normally, fast food places and cafes would have wifi but five guys didn't. Having wifi would certainly give their advertising efforts a huge push with the help of social media. I hope they would provide wifi in future!

Oh yes, another thing, its a fast food restaurant so you should expect to smell like grease even after you leave the place. It isn't so bad at five guys but I won't encourage you to dine here in your glitzy glamorous dress before a performance at the Grand Theatre.

Had this another time. I had this a couple of days before leaving Kingston. As you can see, the cheese has all solidified taking the shape of the aluminium foil. It was a cold burger. Understandably because we walked in the cold to get back to Markland. Nonetheless, it still is an amazing burger!

This was my lunch on a day I met Valerie, Charles and Eric on Princess. Xianyao couldn't join us because he injured his foot while skiing. Being the good pals we are, we never enjoy good food without each other. So we dabaoed (doggy-bagged) back to Markland to lunch with him :) Yes, then we spent the entire afternoon playing some multi-player race game which kept us occupied till evening.

Five Guys is Located on Princess Street, near Dollarama or the Grand Theatre where I watched the Cirque de la Symphonie.
