Complimentary Scallion and Chilli Cornbread
Moist crumbly cornbread. Mmm.
I found Cornbread in Singapore too, at Luke's Oyster Bar, there's a new branch now at the New Robinsons (Old Heeren)
Pan-Seared Pate with Pickles
Seafood Ceviche, Aji Amarillo, Grapefruit, Cilantro
This fancy salad came atop a mountain of ice. The taste was alright but I wish there were more mussels. When I got to the end, it was really salty but I didn't know if that was brine or they over seasoned it. It was not bad just not really worth the money.
Dry Aged Beef, Cheddar, Secret Sauce, Fries
I enjoyed the Dry Aged beef burger at Minetta Tavern better. Will put the link here when that post is done. If I haven't had that one I'd have like this one alot. This was nice and fancy wancy with the cheese and tomatoes and special sauce and stuff. Its a decent burger, over average even, but I still prefer the burger at Minetta Tavern. That burger was my first dry age beef burger but it set the standard for everything else that will come along. Read about that here.
Hot Fried Chicken, Honey Roasted Biscuit, Slaw
Hmmm. I was told to specially come here and order the Fried Chicken. The fried chicken was disappointing though. The batter was oily though thin, and the chicken had became dry. I preferred the one at Má Pêche better. Though the chicken was nothing to rave about, the honey roasted biscuit was yummy!! The biscuit's interior was roasted in honey giving a very nice coating of sugar over the moist buttery interior. Yums.
Boston Lobster Roll, Fries
The lobster roll was filled with a generous amount of lobster and it was nicely seasoned with lemon so even though it was tossed in lobster and some fish roe, the roll wasn't too heavy on the palette. The fresh lobster gave a nice firm texture and was packed with juices.
Some dishes were good, others weren't but in general I found it a little pricey for the quality of food. Everything's very pretty and the ambience was kinda nice I liked the woody interior. Think this will be a nice place for a girls gathering, you can sit here and talk all day :)
