x.x far from the station. |
They say this neighbourhood has the best food in the entire Montreal. The very famous (and pricey)
Au Pied de Cochon known for its Poutine Foie Gras is nearby. And Schwartz's is located in this area and is said to be the oldest deli in Montreal, its been operating for 80 years.
Schwartz's has two parts, one side's a deli and the other's the diner. The diner is not small, but definitely is very crowded because seats are placed very closely. Also, this is a very 'chop-chop-lets-go' place, you sit, you order, eat and go cos there's a long queue outside.

Another group of Singaporeans I met up with, and we met HK exchange students who go to Queen's as well :) |

$7.75 Smoked Meat Sandwich |
Although it is very touristy here, the food here lived up to its name. The smoked meat was flavourful albeit salty and so so juicy. the meat hadn't lost any moisture through the curing process which takes 10 days. Maybe its those little pockets of fat that keeps it so tasty, idk. But it was rather lean so I wasn't grossed out by it. Oh ya. And we don't know what meat it is :/ I think, beef ? Hmmm. but I went to their wiki page and Ctrl-F "Beef" and "Pork" and got not findings for both. Hmmm. :/

This is just a shot of a shopping centre in Montreal. Its Ogilvy, an upmarket departmental store. I think they took much effort to make the interior look modern but still warm and classy :) Came here to get some Khiel's face moisturiser to fight the dry air!
